I-Con, Anime Boston & Boston ComicCon

Three shows in a row!  Two weekends ago was I-Con and this past weekend was Anime Boston.  Both shows went great and we still have one more, our first time doing Boston ComicCon.  We're really looking forward to it.

Probably the most gratifying thing about doing these shows is seeing the reaction people have to our stuff.  Either they hover over the Chaos Emeralds or they comment on how reasonable the prices are for the pewter pendants.  I find this especially at the Anime conventions where many of the dealers have to import their merchandise from Japan which increases the cost dramatically.

We will have pictures up on our site soon and may have a serious redesign in the near future as well.  Be sure to stop by our booth and say high if you are at Boston ComicCon.

I-Con at Stony Brook University

Another year has passed and Con season is upon us again.  I-Con is our first major show of the season, and is great for us since it is local.

Besides our normal merchandise this will be our first show featuring our new T-Shirts.  Besides our own designs we also carry T-shirt for TVtropes.org.  We're very curious to see how they are received.

We still have our Chaos Emeralds and have expanded into Sol Gems as well.

We are seeking affiliates.  If you have a website or blog, think about signing up for our Affiliate Program.  Or you can blog or take pictures of our merchandise to earn discounts.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone again.  We will be in our usual spot in the back row.  See you this weekend!

TV Tropes and Idioms T-shirts

Haven't posted in awhile, still getting used to the blog format and needing to update more than once a month!

We are now carrying official TVtropes.org merchandise.  Instead of just shirts that say TVtropes.org, I am making up specific designs for individual tropes.  Right now the first trope shirt available is "Instant Awesome...Just Add Ninja" cos anything involving Ninjas is, indeed, awesome.

Other designs are available as a pre-order, kinda like what they do at Best Buy.  You put $5 down for a particular design and when it gets printed you can order it and just pay the remaining balance.  I am also accepting ideas and suggestions for other Tropes that would make for good shirts.  Current Tropes available as pre-order include "Blessed With Suck", "The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard" and "May Contain Evil."  Some suggested Tropes that might become designs include "For Science!", "I Want My Jetpack" and "Doomy Dooms of Doom."

If you want to suggest a Trope, you can email me at info@mythicalfair.com, subject header Suggest A Trope.  Current shirt designs can be seen at mythicalfair.com/Tshirts/TVtropes

And before I get any more hate mail, these shirts are authorized by TVtropes.org and the site is getting paid a licensing fee from mythicalfair.com per shirt sold.  I appreciate how protective people are but I have gotten some pretty interesting emails from some Tropers already.

I am hoping that the licensing aspect of Discord T-shirts and Mythicalfair will continue, so if you have a website, forum or other intellectual property that you would like shirts done for, email me at info@mythicalfair.com and we can discuss it.

New York Comic Con

Dylan playing DBZ fighting game
Well we just got back from Comic Con in NYC and it was a blast.  We did NY Anime last year and they told us they were combining Anime with Comic Con.  The booth was more expensive but there was a lot more people...a lot.
We took nowhere near as many pictures as we wanted to because of being so busy, but we got a few and are in the process of adding them to our picture pages.

Dylan got to play some new games, including a Dragonball fighting game and a new Sonic the Hedgehog game, plus he got some cool free swag from Sega including a t-shirt and a lanyard.

Dylan fighting DBZ for real!
While there weren't quite as many costumes as an event like DragonCon, there were still some interesting ones.

Our Chaos Emeralds were a big hit, even people that didn't get the reference still thought they were cool.  Based on the feedback we have gotten we plan on expanding not just our crystal line, but also our statues...which we have finally started to add to our site!

Overall a very fun, if exhausting event.  We are definitely planning on attending next year.  Hope to see everyone again!

New Mythical Fair Blog!

So, we finally decided to join the 21st century.  Mythical Fair (also known as Crystal & Fantasy Creations) finally has a new website (Mythicalfair.com) and now this blog.

Chaos Emeralds
For those of you who don't know us, we are a family run business based out of New York that you see at various Science Fiction and Anime Conventions as well as some Renaissance Fairs.  We sell crystal jewelry, fantasy pewter, prisms, Chaos Emeralds (based on Sonic The Hedgehog) and resin statues of dragons and fairies.  There are three generations involved: my wife and I, our son and daughter, and our grandson (he was the inspiration for the Chaos Emeralds.

Some of the shows we attend include Anime Boston, Otakon, DragonCon, I-Con, ConnectiCon, New England Fan Con, New York Anime/ComicCon, Sands Point Medieval Festival and others.

Our grandson making a sale.
The purpose of this blog is mainly to write about the shows that we go to, some of the great costumes and cosplay that we see, but also to write about general science fiction, fantasy, anime, medieval recreations, comic books, movie reviews and more.

We have pictures and videos from some of the shows we attend.  They can be found on our Photo Page of the website.

We are really looking forward to interacting with our customers online through our site and this blog.  Comments and suggestions are always welcome.  Thanks!
